The Centre for Liveable Cities (CLC) attended the World Urban Forum IV (WUF IV) in Nanjing from 3 - 6 November 2008.
Centre Director, Mr. Andrew Tan and Chief Operating Officer, Ms. Joanna Lee met with UN-HABITAT's Executive Director, Dr. Anna Tibaijuka on 4 November. During the brief discussion, Mr. Tan and Dr. Tibaijuka explored possible collaboration between the CLC and the UN-HABITAT, including UN-HABITAT's participation in the World Cities Summit 2010. After congratulating Dr. Tibaijuka on UN-HABITAT’s successful organisation of the WUF IV, Mr. Tan presented Dr. Tibaijuka with a Singapore publication entitled "Clean, Green and Blue: Singapore's Journey Towards Environmental and Water Sustainability" as a token of appreciation.
Prior to WUF IV, the CLC hosted the launch of UN-HABITAT’s "State of the World's Cities 2008/2009" Report in Singapore on 24 October 2008. The event was attended by key officials from UN-HABITAT namely Mr. Ali Shabou (Chief, UN-HABITAT Office in Amman, Jordan), Professor Banji Oyeyinka (Director, Monitoring and Research Division, UN-HABITAT) and Ms. Rasna Warah (Editor, "State of the World's Cities 2008/2009).
